Kimberly Chernichky, D.C., CACCP

Woah. That’s a lot of syllables. Just call me Dr. Kimmie!

FUN is the name of the game on my side of the hall! Well, lots of health and healing too...we just let the kids think it's all fun!

I spent the first 8 years of my life traveling around the world with my family while my dad was in the Navy! After that, we settled in Chesapeake, VA where I lived until I graduated and made the best decision possible to go to Virginia Tech! (Go Hokies!) There, I met a chiropractor who I spent a lot of time shadowing in his office. At the time, I had no interest in chiropractic, but upon learning what chiropractic does for people and how it does so, along with learning I could specialize and work with kiddos, I was sold!  After graduating from VT, I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA- the founding chiropractic school.

Long story short:

I love working with children, I love how chiropractic takes a whole-body natural approach to allowing families to achieve true health…so when I “grew up,” I became a pediatric chiropractor!

While at chiropractic school, I spent much of my time active with the pediatrics club, and many of my weekends traveling to further my education in pediatrics and pregnancy through the ICPA- the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Through this organization, I have received my certification in Webster Technique as well as my certification in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic. Getting to work with kids AND helping them and their families achieve true health naturally every single day is an absolute joy!
I have also received my certifications and training in Activator, Thompson, Diversified, Gonstead, SOT, Logan, and myofascial release techniques. I ensure that I pay careful attention to individualize the care of each of my patients based on what your body responds best to...that means no one-size-fits-all adjustment here!

During my internship phase of school, I was able to take a trip to Fiji to serve several rural schools and communities with chiropractic care. Those 2 weeks were just magical for me! I was surrounded by children literally lined up to get adjusted! I got to work alongside and learn from peers and mentors from other schools and around the country, and together we saw lots of miracles in our short time there.

I am trained as a doula by DONA, and love to combine this with my education in pediatrics to offer workshops and constantly be educating my patients in a natural lifestyle. Remember, the word "doctor" derives from the Latin docere, which means, "to teach," and I don't take that responsibility lightly!

When I'm not at the office, I'm enjoying quality time with Dr. Jake (otherwise known as my husband!) and our precious little bundle, Vada. I enjoy any activity that has anything to do with water (kayaking, going to the beach, tubing...all of it!) as well as dabbling in photography. We have enjoyed discovering the Roanoke Valley region and have really come to love it and enjoy calling it home
