After Your New Patient Exam
While many chiropractors may adjust on your first visit, we usually intentionally take time to pause between your exam and your report of findings.
In the same way that you wouldn't want your medical provider to put a cast on a broken bone without first looking at the X-Rays, this time between appointments is our chance to put all of the puzzle pieces together.
We will compile what we've found with your history, scans, range of motion, and orthopedic tests to put together a care plan that will be best suited to help you achieve your health goals. At your report of findings, here's what we will be reviewing with you:
1. Your exam findings
We will show you what we found, and tell you what it means!
2. Your recommendations for care
We will review the frequency and duration of recommended care for your current health concern.
3. The finances involved with your recommended care plan
We don't believe there should ever be any surprises in your finances with your care here! We will show you up front all of the finances involved in the recommendations we are making.

We’re SPINE doctors, right?
Thinking of chiropractors as SPINE doctors isn't wrong, but it's not the whole story. Going to a chiropractor just for aches & pains is like going to a coffee shop just for black coffee- it's a great place if that's what you're looking for, but there is so so much more we have to offer!
Chiropractic works upon the foundation of S U B L U X A T I O N.
The subluxation complex is a very intricate process in your body, but you can think of it as a misalignment of a joint (namely in your spine) that negatively impacts how your nerves coming from that joint are able to communicate with the parts of your body it controls.
This is why a subluxation might cause pain when it affects the motion of the joint, function of the muscles, and inflammation in the joint. But it also explains why a subluxation might cause other non-musculoskeletal health challenges or pain. This includes symptoms like: fetal malposition in pregnancy, reflux or breastfeeding issues in an infant, chronic ear infections in a child, infertility, poor sleep, and more.
Your nervous system also has two different modes of function. We like to think of them as your GAS and your BRAKE pedals. Your GAS pedal is your “fight or flight” response. It's a great emergency response system (like if someone were to cut you off in traffic), but it isn't helpful to have this response 24/7. Your BRAKE pedal excels in functions like sleep, digestion, immune function, and hormone balance. We think of it as “rest and digest” and is appropriate for many of our daily functions, but doesn't help us to complete all of our functions in life. Most patients coming in for the first time will find in their scans that their nervous system is more geared to one mode over the other, and it's our job to help you get better balance between these modes by getting adjusted.
When we bring better alignment into your spine, and better balance between the two different “modes” of your nervous system, we are able to restore proper function to your body. The adjustment helps you achieve this!
So ultimately, WE don't fix your problem! We simply help your body to be able to heal itself better, the way it was intelligently designed to do!
